Introduction

Welcome to Hypnus, a yaoi-based layout on the work, Silence, by Takamiya Azuma. A short description of Hypnus - he is the Greek god of sleep and therefore was the physical embodiment of resting.

The making of

I simply adore the art of Takamiya Azuma - simple yet delicate and beautiful. Although, I must confess, I have never finished any of her longer works such as Silence and Koisuru Ningyo, they're still a joy to read.

Hypnus features the characters Kaoru and Masato from Silence. A wonderful pair, wouldn't you say? But I wish I knew the conclusion of the work, I'm left at a major cliffhanger for quite a while and I hope to finish the series soon. Well, enough of my rambling, I hope you enjoy using this layout and do visit Forever More for all your yaoi goodies (they are disbanded though and most of their projects are continued by Dangerous Pleasure).

This layout was made for Intoxicated Design's Color Me Crazy contest. The color-scheme attempted is Split-Complementary of Oranges, Blue-Greens, and Blue-Purples.

Other Nitty Gritties

I originally wanted to color the black & white scans but I only ended up coloring sleeping Kaoru's hair (his hair's supposed to be a sort of purple) with some highlights thrown in haphazardly and added some peachy shadow on his face and anywhere else that showed some skin. There wasn't supposed to be this gigantic black hole (thing) on the header image, but it turned out for the better - the text of the header fits in nicely with the black hole so I'm a happy camper.

Dearest's resources are always wonderful to use, at the very least, I steered away from The Fifth Muse's brushes (I realized that I have a tendancy to constantly use those brushes, but I can't help it! they are wonderfully made and wonderful to use).
